General Summary:

Ensures delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate booking of customer orders, communication, and coordinating with other departments. Acts as the first point of broker contact for general inquiries like shipping, pricing, scheduling, insurance etc. Builds and maintains business relationships with brokers by providing prompt and accurate service to increase broker availability and the customers level of service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains long term, positive relationships with existing brokers.
  • Develops and grows relationships with new brokers.
  • Books customer orders with brokers through outbound and inbound phone calls, e-mails, and internet postings.
  • Obtains updates from brokers on in-progress shipments, shipment delays, and delivery confirmation.
  • Takes action to respond to and/or resolve broker issues.
  • Interacts courteously, timely, and professionally with internal departments to satisfy customer and broker issues and/or process exceptions within guidelines (including, but not limited to: shipping, pricing, scheduling, credit, and accounting). 
  • Keeps brokers and internal departments informed of any follow-up through resolution.
  • Identifies and escalates driver issues outside established guidelines to the appropriate superior or manager.
  • Follows departmental guidelines for methods of booking orders and accuracy.
  • Utilizes all necessary internal applications, including, but not limited to: McLeod, PC Miler, Internet, e-mail, Word and Excel.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 year degree and 2 years logistics experience
  • 4 year degree from an accredited university
